Okay guys - this is my thread so I can post one of my favourite jokes here
Have you heard of Back Luck Anonymous?
Of course you haven't - this is a joke - but just imagine - a twelve-step programme for people with Bad Luck
So Joe - for the want of a better name - was a member of BLA _ Bad Luck Anonymous - and he went to his meeting one night with a terrible problem - he had dropped his bread and butter on the floor as all members of BLA know - but it landed butter-side-up
Everyone at the meeting agreed something had gone badly wrong - and so the leader said he would meet with all the other local leaders and try and out what had happened
This was hard - but after all - the members of BLA knew this would take time
Finally the leader got back to the meeting and told Joe and everyone there that they had found how it was that Joe's bread and butter had landed butter-side-up.
He had buttered it on the wrong side.
Of course he had!!

Yeah I laugh at that one too @Shaz51
For a while I was polite .. but then orphanages ... was called a snob .. and if not all the food was gone we got in trouble .. NOW as grown up .. I play with it socially a bit .. and also sometimes .. be norty and deliberately take the last one .. sometimes it works as an icebreaker. and makes all the well mannered ladies laugh at themselves.

Aw @Shaz51
If people take the last cake or biscuit people tell them they are in for some kind of bad end - eg - She'll be an old maid
I don't like taking the last thing left - there might be something wrong with it - like other people saw a fly land on it or it was dropped onto the floor
Nah - never take the last one

Oh yeah @AIppleblossom
Every year people get a chance to spit on their birthday cake when they blow out the candles
My mother's upper denture landed on her birthday cake once
I just remember this is my thread - months back - so I shall continue
One thing I say is "Never insult the cook - you never can tell if they spat in the gravy"
Imagine those grotty little fingers kids pick the bickies up by before they are told to put the last one back
I never eat the last one
