Good on you for holding your ground and not buying into the teasing of an older man. Sometimes it's easier to just go along with things. It shows a lot of integrity to hold on to your beliefs!

Next time you're online, I'd love to hear how you actually go about choosing a heifer.. I'd just pick the cutest.. not sure if that would be the wisest way though...

@NikNik He is a young man about 26 ... he looks in our direction with fear or a quizzical look when she is laughing ... she is actually a nice person and he is "difficult" ... but I have to tell her to stop it cos its upsetting me now. I am quite clear about that boundary.

How do you deal with the concept of "the big personality" and where is the line from that to "bully"? This is regarding the lady I am having the clash with.

I just accepted that I have SH'd, and got out bed to clean and cover it. I don't even remember doing it...


@NikNik Everyone looks for different things in a heifer. There's the basics (structure), then there's the finer points. So things like femininity. Which I suppose comes under the category of "cute". 🙂
Myself personally, regarding the animals on the property I work at, I would go for a medium-frame animal (I'm tall and wide, so want something closer to my size). I think I'd like a bit of a "pretty" head, but at the same time I'd like a bit more of a "stocky" sort. I'd like an apricot, but I guess if there's a heifer that matches what I want and she's red, I won't say no.

While I'm here and thinking, can I ask you guys a favour???
I will need to name my heifer (when I finally choose her), and we're weaning soon, so we need to come up with names...
My heifer will likely be a "K", so she'll need a name starting with K.
But we've also got this year's "L" animals to name too.
So... names starting with "K" and "L". Preferably names for the girls, but we obviously will have some boys to keep, so they'll need names too...

Sorry about the SH @Crazy_Bug_Lady I was thinking about it tonight when cooking .. but manage to distract .. if I didnt have duty of care for a child .. well manchild .. I am not sure I would have motivation ...

get that heifer ... the love and care will be worth it ... I am sure it wont be a disaster .. you are too diligent ... trust that about yourself.
