Yes, keep pushing through Mazarita. Better days are to come. God will help you. I'm sorry if I was a downer in the wee small hours of Saturday morning. Enough sleep will definitely help you. You can do breathing exercises to help you get to sleep. Also, heating up milk releases an enzyme in it which will help you to sleep, and falling asleep to the radio or tv will usually engage your brain sufficiently to stop thoughts going around in it which might keep you awake. And pray on it. I hope some of this advice helps you (I know praying on it will help). 🙂

Hi @Terry. Thanks for your good intention in answering my post and your practical suggestions. To be honest, our communication the other night was a downer. The main thing that is troubling me is having someone else's beliefs in god and other ideas pushed on me so strongly. It is something that has happened every time we have communicated on the forum. I respect your right to hold your religious and other beliefs. Please respect that I don't share some of them and have thoughts of my own.

Sure. I'm sorry that I was a downer. God has helped me and He helps us all. Anyway, enough sleep DOES have a restorative effect. I think there is maybe a little truth in the phrase 'it is always darkest just before dawn'. Getting those tears out is nice and healing too. Anyway, I'm glad you seem to be feeling better. I'm a little obsessive and I actually don't really think I embody christian values well enough. I guess I rave on because a bona fide miracle happened in my life last year that I and my mum were praying for and i've been gob-smacked ever since! Anyway, a good cry and a good sleep usually improves things no end! I hope you are feeling better today and it seems that you are - that is very good! 🙂

Hi @Mazarita,
How are you going with quitting the tobacco and the green stuff? you are doing so well, i am so proud of you, it is not an easy thing to give up, i still get cravings for cigaretts when i get anxious, i try eaching liqurish or playing with a pen as my fingers need to be occupied.
sorry to hear you are not sleeping well, neither am i, muscle twitches and restless leg syndrome, just try to get rest when you can, don't be too hard on yourself if you sleep through the day, listen to your body, it rests for a reason.
You are doing so well, my thoughts and well wishes are with you my friend.
Jacques

Cool. Tks. I know I'm a bit monotonous about God (and I really don't usually even act out my christian values well enough - still too bad-tempered most of the time 😞 ), but it really was the most extraordinary miracle, and almost no-one will listen about it. Anyway, God is helping you whether you know it or not - maybe even through me! Get lots of nice sleep and have that cry (enzymes are actually released in your tears when you cry that make you feel better - true! I actually hardly ever cry and have to watch the ending of 'Cinema Paradiso' to get at the tears, but it doesn't work unless I have watched the preceding two-and-a-half hours of the film first! How annoying is that!). hee hee! god bless :0 x 🙂

I was having trouble sleeping and with 'restless legs' a while ago. It seemed like my body had a lot of 'electrial energy' which I couldn't 'let go of' and which was interfering with my sleep. I remember feeling all-round-uncomfortable at that point and couldn't quite figure out what to do about it. I thought about dancing in the lounge room to 'get some energy out' but didn't feel like it, so I just jumped up and down and 'squiggled' (for want of a better word). For half an hour or so I just, basically, 'squiggled' - sort of writhed around and jiggled and jumped and sort of moved my body vigorously. It seemed to work. I have done it whilst lying in bed too and feeling upset that my legs won't go to sleep (restless legs) - just suddenly 'squiggle' for a while in bed. It seems to get the energy out and let your body rest better after you stop doing it. AND, I think I have invented a new dance form and expect to be featured on some arts and culture program soon. DO the SQUIGGLE! hee hee! god bless :0 🙂

Hi @Jacques,
Thanks for your well wishes. My heart goes out to you with your sleeping troubles.
I'm not going so well with the smokes this week and last week. Just started seeing the psychologist again for this year. The best I can say about it all at this point is that it's an ongoing process with ups and downs. I'm feeling pretty frustrated with myself though.
The main things that are going well are: consistently getting out of the flat for medical appointments, get togethers with friends and community group activities; using public transport okay in my own suburb and the ones either side; and regular walks on the beach (though not every day).
Glad you are around the forum more again these days.
