Today I have finally gotten through to my GP that I need help beyond his abilities.Dont get me wrong he has been super supportive and he has tried his best.
I have seen pain specialists and surgeons and after all the operations I'm worse than ever.
So today I have been referred to the Hunter integrated pain clinic in john hunter hosp Newcastle.
I am hoping some of you might be able to tell me if you have attended and what I can expect .
I ask this as I was sent to a pain clinic in Sydney and they took my meds and said I won't need them as they will help me live without them .2 days later I was admitted to hospital
I don't want to go down that road again.
Any input would be appreciated

That experience of taking all your medications off you sounds horrible and I sincerely wish patients could access genuine means of recourse to address such abuse from the medical profession. Don't get me wrong, the human experience is complex and medical people cannot hope to solve all issues. But they can be expected to treat people with dignity and compassion. Whilst I'm sure there's more to that experience, such as 'the other side of the story', the experience you describe, on face value, sounds like the result of an extreme approach from a medical professional. Whilst pain is so devastating it can so easily trigger reactive decisions that aren't necessarily well considered, there needs to be much better treatment oversight than there seems to be in many scenarios.
Unfortunately I cannot help with your potential experience as it's not within mine, but I also suffer chronic pain and so I have some idea of how impossible it can feel.
I don't know if there's any way to have 1:1 or private chats via these forums. Suspect not, but I would like to discuss your pain situation with you, if you wished. Or not. Perfectly understand either way etc.
Regardless, please come back to these forums and describe your experience at the clinic, if possible.
