Re: 14th year house bound

Hi @Former-Member

thank you, they take about 1-1.5 years to make each one, such fine work, you can only do about 1 hour at a time before your eyes get sore, they are made mostly with two pairs of tweezers, they are like my fingers.

Re: 14th year house bound

Thank you so much for sharing those pictures. @Jacques The detail in the hull and the sails are wonderful.  You have many gifts. Patience only one.

Re: 14th year house bound

Hi Jacques

I am blown away by the photos of your boats. Such intricate work. You should be very proud and stand up and take a bow. Well done.

Stay strong!

Thankyou so much @Appleblossom, @Former-Member, @Mazarita, @CherryBomb@WombatBoots, and everyone else, you are all so kind, you guys are the only ones to have seen them outside of some of my mothers family, most of my family have not seen them.

Thank you for sharing them! they are awesome!! wow, such a long time to make!! I crochet sometimes but i get frustrated at how long it takes if im making something bigger than a beanie hehe!! no patience!! I'm in awe 🙂

Re: 14th year house bound

I teared up when I first saw you had posted more boats.

But that is not a necessarily a bad thing .. So often art is about stirring or touching other people.

Reading your post to @Mazarita that you cared and had a feeling response to my distress was very special for me.  I did not mean to distress you, but one of my experiences is that of a feeling vacuum in my family.  I used to get distressed about my younger siblings but they were so overwhelmed that they didnt notice my struggles. it feels very brotherly of you to get distressed about me.  I hope your walk along the beach has helped get you on a more even keel.

Thank you for caring @Jacques

Re: 14th year house bound

Wow That is really touching @Appleblossom, i never thought people would like them, i almost distroyed them, but mum would not let me.  they were always a way to fill in time for me,  nothing more.

art is so beautiful i love landscape paintings, i can look at them for hours.  Mum used to help run an arts and crafts festival in QLD when we lived their, i used to wander around for hours while she was setting up the paintings just looking at them.  although i struggle with interpretive art, i can't for the life of me see the million dollar price tags of picasso,  i can't make head nor tail of his paintings.  i don't mind some nude paintings, some of the older artists 1600's, 1700's where so tallented with them.  i cannot paint at all, woiuld not know were to start, but some of them are so life-like.

please don't be upset, i just mis-read your post, maybe i tried to make it my fault, you are a special person, and i care for everyone here, we all have our struggles and triumphs.  i hope one day you get your triumph with your family.

Take Care

Jacques
