@Jynx I’ve never tried writing poetry before. To my surprise, resting with the cats the words started to flow. This relates to my current struggles

 

Darkness

 

Here in the darkness I sit all alone

Time passes on but everyone’s gone

the nightmares and flashbacks they haunt day and night

leaving me in constant state of fright

the sun shines outside, the flowers grow

the heart and mind remember those who are gone

if the world was mine there would be no sorrow

peace and love would rein forever and ever

for today, the world was bright and gay

here in the darkness I will continue to stay
