Hey @Lisgirl ,
Welcome to the forums. You certainly aren't alone with feeling such anxiety.
I had a time in my life where anxiety ruled, and it wasn't pleasant.
I'm about to head over to our live chat, but will be back shortly.
Here's the information about our live chat if you want to join. You are more than welcome.

Hi @Lisgirl this was what bought me to the forums many years ago, asking this same question.
I deal with anxiety most days in varying degrees. It can be pretty rough at times and stops me from doing things that I want to. It’s debilitating.
therapy and medication has helped.

Hi @Lisgirl
I have chronic anxiety. I actually can't remember the last time I wasn't anxious. Constant tight chest, needing to fidget, fogginess etc.
I hope you are doing OK 🙂😉

Hi @Lisgirl
I'm sorry to hear you're struggling with severe anxiety. I understand how dibilitating it can be, and how much it can limit your life.
When my own anxiety spirals, it affects everything. I feel physically unwell and completely drained. It's exhausting. I've been in car accidents because I couldn't focus, made poor decision when I was overwhelmed just to escape a situation, and said or done things out of character that I later regretted.
In addition to therapy and medication, I practice self-soothing techniques like yoga, deep breathing and spending time in nature to help lower my stress. I also focus on staying within my "window of tolerance", a concept by Dr. Dan Siegel. The more I practice these skills, the more resilient I become in managing anxiety and stress.
Taking care of yourself through a healthy diet, good sleep, spending time outdoors and being with people you love can all make a difference in managing anxiety and coping with life's challenges.
I hope you find way to ease your stress and sek support when you need it.
Take care, kindly Alisse

Hi @Lisgirl,
Welcome to the Forum, and thank you for posting.
Much like most people here, I also live with severe anxiety and each day is different. The right medication and having a good support network (I'm very lucky to have a mental health friendly GP and a good counsellor) which has really helped me not only develop some different coping strategies, but also in becoming more in control of it for the first time in my life.
I hope that today was better for you.
Don't be a stranger.

I have empathy for thatp. Anxiety has been a 'companion' and a challenge for me for a long time. I manage it the best I can. Sometimes better than other times.
