Yes @NatureLover the two surgeries are both spinal. The first to remove and replace discs and then fuse the front of the spine, the second to fuse the back of the spine. All very intensive and scary stuff. How are you doing anyway?
Morning @Eve7 how are you today?

Wow, @Emelia8 , they sound like major surgeries...and a week apart! Yes, scary...It sounds like you have a while to psych up for them?
I feel I am doing better since I got the therapy light box...the test will be coming up next week in Melbourne with 4-5 days of rain /gloom. I'm eager to test the effects of the light box. Thanks for asking.

Yes that's right @NatureLover , both major surgeries. Not considered urgent this time, so I will have a bit of a wait. Unlike last time where I had 10 days notice to be ready to go. And in that time I had to have blood tests, CT scans and specialist cardiac clearance. My tentative surgery date is early October, but I am on their cancellation list. So its possible I could get a call any time really. Barring that however, I have plenty of time to psych myself up, yes. Or back out altogether. 😨

@Emelia8 I'm surprised your surgeries are not considered urgent. That's 5 months away...
I will be sending wishes for clarity for you about whether to go ahead with the surgeries, and also that if you do decided to go ahead, that you will get a cancellation appt...does that sound OK?

I was in severe pain before @NatureLover hence the urgency. My surgery in February has resulted in a reduction in pain levels. I would classify it now as only moderate, though constant. And it is mostly controlled with at times (heavy duty) medications. And since it is nearly June already, its only a little over 4 months now. I agree it seems a long way away. And now that I've made the tough decision to go ahead with the surgeries, its frustrating having to wait. But I accept there are people in far greater need right now than me.
Plus its difficult to organise my surgeries as they need two surgical spots available a week apart; two different specialist surgeons in attendance (orthopaedic and vascular) and a much longer hospital stay. So its a bit of a juggle.
But if you would like to send wishes, then please do so for a cancellation and earlier surgery. Because now that my mind is made up, I just want it done, so I can get on with life. That would be great. Thank you. 🙏😀💝

I will also pray that a cancellation comes up for you @Emelia8 so that you can have both surgeries done asap. 💕
