Re: Hi

5am @TAB - wow - I've been up around that time lately too but just because I can't sleep - same old same old here.

I have a funny story for you (I think it is amusing anyway)

Last week I saw this strange movement under the dining table - did startle me but thought it was just my mind playing tricks - next thing I see these little white paws stick out, followed by a grey cat - I don't have a grey cat! The little thing must have been searching for some warmth and came in from one of the neighbours somewhere. That isn't the funny thing though! Next - the commotion started. Cat went tearing after this grey cat then Toby went running behind her. The grey cat went up the tree in the backyard and Toby did laps for ages. I finally got Toby and Cat inside and the poor little grey cat climbed out of the tree and over the fence - I did feel sorry for grey cat - there was no way Cat and Toby was going to let grey cat into their territory - and they worked together to get rid of it - that part was adorable.

Re: Hi

Poor grey cat @Zoe7 .. yes have done the up and no sleep 5ams not that long ago. Am in work mode (uncomfortably) at moment well I usually do short term casual, this job is regular, so has ita own challenges like different types of people do different types ot jobs even if same skillsets. It can seem a bit serious at times. People just grinding it out in their own way, less 'highs', even humor, have noticed. Ite just so ... serious.. lol

Re: Hi

It must feel good to have a 'regular' job though @TAB? But I do understand that the serious stuff can be monotonous and the day can seem so much longer without something (like a little humour) to break it up. I am really pleased for you though that you have something regular - can afford more cat milk now I suppose (and not the cheap homebrand kind but the top of the line luxury cat milk lol)

Re: Hi

Yeah I get that @TAB certainly more lucrative having casual or short-term contract work which is ok if it is consistent - not so much if you don't know when the next job is coming along. I used to do relief teaching - and that is all I wanted to do - before I finally took it on full-time. I could work 3 days a week and receive around the same as a full-time teacher but no holiday pay meant I had to be careful with my money to cover those times. So there are advantages and disadvantages for both.

Re: Hi

So true @Zoe7 .. there's no quick fixes this way although numbers tell me the consistency thing works longer term ie if did this job 12mths it would be a good year, just no big pays thats all

Hi. Update. Still at job wonky thoughts and all.
Anyway just saying hello. Am sitting out back freezing butt off, fire going inside but I won't, why is that? Feel like ice. Dreading appointment with job network tomorrow . They found me again after sick cert ran out so they are calling me in on my days off from job I found myself so they can get govt subsidy for my efforts l love this country hmm notso much anymore its all getting a little silly re inequity and unfairness. Phps knock off centrelink funding for corporate gravy trains re job network etc and just put payments up a bit.. no.. that wouldn't be right. .. really grates when see million dollar tv ads trying to sell the unemployed/unemployable on tv yeah if I had a business would just jump at it ..Not

Re: Hi

Hi @TAB. So good to see you back here. Sorry, I waa in hospital when you set up this thread, so only just read through it. I'm so glad you are back. But sorry to hear about your mum. That's a tough one.
I hope you are looking after yourself. Maybe seeing someone to help you with your grief and all those things that come up.
Couldn't agree with you more about your job network. They are always willing to take the credit - even when they've done nothing to help you get a job. Just wait. The job network agency will soon send you out a 'customer satisfaction survey'. Either throw it in the bin. Or write what you really think and post it back.
Good to see you.
