@MJG017 Hi can you look in on the 'Older male depression' discussion. I am worried about a fellow contributor. I think I recklessly triggered .
yesterday
@Sooth I am wondering what makes you say this ... did I type something that offended you, or ?
Sorry mate, really confused by your post.
yesterday
@WizardMotor Hi no don't be confused. I thought maybe I had triggered something and brought you down.
That's the last thing I want to do.
I panicked.
Thank G you sound alright.
yesterday
@Sooth Well actually I am, and have a right to be confused seeing as you made a separate post about it instead of simply using the original thread.
I am trying to understand what I said that made you react like this?
yesterday
I unreservedly apologise. I was worried about you. I thought my post had brought you down. Not knowing what to do I reached out to what I believe is an old hand.
Completely the wrong thing to do.
You have been honest and authentic and again I apologise for offending you.

This does come up from time to time. If someone rhinks they have upset someone, they just want an outside opinion, and its hard to do that without creating a separate post since DM'ing isnt a thing here.
Most of us here are just trying to help people however we can and there's always that fear of saying the wrong thing, however unintentionally. Its hard with communication being text only. Even unfortunate typos or autocorrects can cause big misunderstanding. So it always important to keep in mind that everyone is just doing their best to be empathetic and supportive, but that these misunderstandings happen and we all handle stressful incidents like this differently.
yesterday
Very true @MJG017 Communicating exclusively on a text-based platform means that there will always be room for misinterpretation and misunderstandings. Sometimes the best thing to do when you're unsure is to simply ask, since it can be very difficult to read tone, especially when talking about such sensitive topics as we do on here.
@Sooth @WizardMotor if you're ever concerned about a post or a member you can use the report posts function which flags it to a moderator who can then have a look and check in with the member if needed.
