Happy Friday night @Crazy_Bug_Lady, @NikNik, @Jacques and all who arrive later.
The past couple of weeks I've been out of the flat for walks nearly every day. Also some small social occasions some evenings and another coming up on Sunday. Going okay so far on my new medication, not too many weird side effects showing up yet. So going modestly well here compared to how I was not so long ago.
@Crazy_Bug_Lady I've had some disaster hair experiences in my life too. But last week I got the rough ends of my hair trimmed. First time in a year or more. Feels good. 🙂

Yes it is so easy to slip into a depression, we really need to see the warning signs and act quickly, i am trying not to SH, but i am finding it really difficult lately, well difficult full stop.
I am glad you are going to your GP, sometime out and new meds will definately help.
It is so nice to see you around the forums again, i missed you bubbly personality

I am so lucky when it comes to hair cuts, my mother is a professional hair dresser, she taught me to cut her hair, so she trimms mine and i trim hers. it works great!!!!!

@Jacques I'm still on the same meds as before. I just sick of everything and stopped taking them over the weekend. Which in hindsight was plain stupid...
Yeah, I'm struggling with SH still, I wonder if I will ever stop getting the urges...
While I was out today I bought some coloured thread... I used to make bracelets when I was first trying to stop SH. Figure I might get some to keep me busy...

Hi everyone
I've been trying to give up sugary drinks, at least I've cut down.
Any tips for not self harming Jacques, I'd love to hear.
All I've got is distraction

That's about it

Hi @Crazy_Bug_Lady ,
Next week we have a few things planned. The main ones are:
Live forums chat (kinda like Topic Tuesday) on Monday night at 9:35pm AEST to coincide with ABC's Mental As, which will be based on mental health (see more here) and we have also put a call out here how mental illness should be depicted. We are asking people to upload their images (their own or 'borrowed' from the internet) which they feel would depict mental illness in a way they were comfortable with.
*waves to everyone who has joined the conversation since last post*
It sounds like we've all had a hectic week!

Well Karen, i don't know how to stop, i do it every night, i try to fight the urges, but i usually surcome to the urge.
another way i suppose sometimes works is waiting it out.
It is very tough to deal with, it is a major part of my life.

@Crazy_Bug_Lady When I first joined the forums I was impulsively taking myself off my medications too (partly because I couldn't get myself out of the flat to get a prescription). I usually end up in deep trouble without meds so I've since returned to them (including a couple of changes). I have improved with this help and the forum and other steps I've taken myself. I find it inspiring how much you do to live a full life, all the time continuing to take the steps to help yourself. 🙂

Hi @hiddenite Good to see you here. What sort of things do you do to distract yourself from the thoughts?? I like to make bracelets, the friendship bracelets with the pastterns knotted in. I am bad at it, I can only do basic ones, but I like the repetitive action of it, and it keeps my hands busy.

I've missed @PeppiPatty and @chookmojo from the forums lately. Hi to you both, hope you are going well.
