Hehe I like the idea of virtual holidays @Terry! Maybe our friday feast night could be in a different location each week @CherryBomb and @NikNik hehe! an Island party feast! whoot!
@Former-Member I tend to agree with you about the duration of mental illness and whatnot... I think i've come to a certain acceptance level...I"m not looking to 'go back' to the way I was before (because I"ve realised that I was healthy back then any way and that mylife wasn't 'normal'then anyway or sustainable either)... Buti nowhave more strategies and skills to help me manage the lows, the social isolation etc. I know i'm not walking in your shoes, but i do feel quite proud of how you manage day to day with the struggles that you have. you are a fighter and I've learnt a lot from you in how you manage to keep seeking help and face the fears and anxiety while still doing things thatyou want to.

@Former-Member, i must add, that for all my bravado and ego, i do have anxiety and ptsd and trouble coping (all caused by the mental health system) and until i have the rights of any 'normal' person, i have no intention of going back to the paid workforce for another shocking drubbing. i am middle-aged to old, and settled on the pension now (although, as i said, there is no longer any good reason for me to be on the pension apart from discrimination). I struggled shockingly for years - two suicide attempts, and many shocking immensely painful and terrifying moments trying to keep going, decade after decade after decade. and then God worked a miracle of healing in my life, and i also figured out around about the same time that society ISN'T going to get its foot off my head yet (rights) and I might as well take it easy and try to help others until then. and now i'm going out to dinner, or i will after i have written this article which i really should get done now. there is always hope. i was in terrible pain for decades on decades. god bless 🙂

Hi @Former-Member, the new house sounds great! Are the furbabies new members of the family?
@Terry it's a pity the Forums are anonymous so we can't go to Great Keppell Isand and get wrecked together A Friday Feast island party sounds fun though...

Hi @Terry.. I think I understand what you were eluding to... There is a youtube documentary called Open Dialogues about a city in Finland where they have reduced the incidence of schizophrenia by 90%. I have also read that Europe offers the best mental health treatment & I think we need to learn from various approaches they use. Another thing my old psychologist (she was Hungarian) told me about & that I have also seen in a documentary is that in some parts of Europe groups of 5 - 10 people care for one individual as they "recover"/learn to manage mental illness.
Thank you @Former-Member... that means a lot. I think my biggest strength is my perseverance. (Also, I must be here for a reason, as I've had several near death experiences. Even when I attempt to completely give up - I 'pick myself up' & seek help & try new approaches - keep going!)
@Former-Member your new home sounds great - except for the lack of book shelves!! I have about 4 or 5 boxes of books too! Good luck with the psychI evaluation! I'm sure you will be fine! I like your humor about him paying your bills if he doesn't pass you!!
I think it is time to shut down the laptop & go read my book....
Namaste,
Anna

Good luck with your article writing @Terry 😄
Hi @Former-Member yes the furbabies are 2 rabbits (they will come to school as class pets as well, cuddle and snuggle animals!) One is called Peter Rabbit the second! and the other is as yet unnamed (my son cant decide!). And we have a rescue kitten called Sally-Anne Sad Face lol (daughter's naming! but she does look a bit sad, and she is a sook!) and we got our old cat Revarn back! He's so happy to be home! That is also a bonus of having our own place again, i love my animals, specially after the kids are asleep at night, or im awake in the middle of the night, there's always some company!

Hi @Former-Member...
Very exciting that you are able to have furchildren again!! How wonderful that you have been reunited with your cat!
I know I said I would go read, but I got stuck talking to my good friend Kerri-Anne on fb messenger - I'm concerned about her & trying to work out what I can do to help her & if she wants my help... *sigh*
Namaste,
Anna

keep trying to get through to her and help her. eventually, she should, hopefully, respond. Lifeline (13 11 14) is very good if she does not want to open up to you. Keep trying to get through to her whatever way you can. Eventually she should respond, then be very careful with her emotionally and you probably will just have to listen non-judgmentally and probably for quite a while. good luck and god bless 🙂
