This has been an issue for me over the years. I know at times, it would HELP if I cried but couldn't. Then other times I would be crying at weird stuff....usually news as there is so much sadness in the world.
my mum visited last year and I found I would burst into tears with her, which I found embarrassing as I could not help it. Mum was okay with that and said maybe I felt okay in her presence....this was true, but also very surprising as I have had a complicated relationship with her over the years.
