Re: Writing As A Form Of Therapy

I don't mind crying with you @BlueBay, and for you.  You have touched my heart, and friends can share in joy and sorrow.  It is a part of what makes friendship great.

Poetry written from the heart is great poetry @BlueBay, and that is what poetry teachers teach as well.  Yes, there are structures you can use with poetry, but my favourite poetry is without much structure, for exactly that reason. The heart has its own idea of structure, and speaks its own language in many different ways. Monetary is one of those languages of the heart.

I am so glad you are feeling better now.  Pets speak heart-languages too.  I think we all know they do ❣

Re: Writing As A Form Of Therapy

My beautiful little Jersey, 2 yr old Kelpie.  Full of energy, love and life.  And I wouldn't have it any other way.

I have a friend called Jersey

i love her so much

she is a kelpie

and loves to help me

she cries when i come home

and fights to get her bone

she is the smartest dog

i love her my friend

i've never had a dog like this

but now i know the closeness

of a person and their dog

She wakes up in the morning

and goes out for a wee

and then she pounces on my bed

and kisses me good morning

she then lays next to me

and i pat her to ease my anxiety

i feel at ease with my little girl

My little Jersey

On mother's day I was teary

and cried a lot in the morning

but little Jersey came up to

looked me in the eyes and didn't move

And with her eyes i could tell

that she was saying 'it's okay'

I'm here

and i love you

I can tell by the love she has of me

and the love i have of her

that Jersey is my best friend

forever and ever

And when i take her to the beach

she jumps and dives into the water

i throw the ball and she runs likes

she's in a race, so fast

She actually smiles at times for me

I love her so much

She makes my day when i am sad

i love you Jersey, my friend

Re: Writing As A Form Of Therapy

@Faith-and-Hope I have just had an idea - i am going to type all my poems and put them in a book and then show my psych and therapist.

And when i write more I can add them to my book.

I am crying because I made you cry; friends cry and laugh together but my freinds don't cry with me at all.  thank you for being my friend.

xxxxoooo

Re: Writing As A Form Of Therapy

nothing

now that i am nothing

i am happy to be nothing

theres nothing to harm me

nothing to lose or gain

i am happy to be nothing

nothing to remember

nothing to say

i resolve to be nothing

Re: Writing As A Form Of Therapy

Ahhh, but the whole universe grew from nothing @GonePirate.

So nothing was a seed in fact, it would seem .......

Nothing has its possibilities.

Nothing can be filled with something new.

Therein is a new thought  🌿

Re: Writing As A Form Of Therapy

but to be something
involves feeling something
and at the moment
I'm quite happy to feel nothing

Re: Writing As A Form Of Therapy

Then rest awhile, feeling nothing, if content you be

Till something new grows afresh

In its own time, in its own way

For something is the true creative

Wait and see !!

Re: Writing As A Form Of Therapy

Hi @Silenus

@I tucked this lengthy piece you wrote away for a while, until I could come back and read it through with my full concentration.

Thank you for the hugs, and lovely compliment.  That made it easier to size up to my day.  D3 had a much better day, and has her studies put back on the rails yet again, with an extension on an art assignment that had been left way behind this term.  I hope her health holds together now.  S2 has bounced back again this week, so on we go, in much better shape for the moment.

You have so many fabulous quotes in this piece you have written today !  I love the one that says "Funny how 'communities' and 'communication' are so similar, to me they sound the same" and the "growing in love and compassion" within this little community we have forged.

Land how much love is shared with us by dogs .... have you seen @BlueBay s poem about her Jersey yet ?   There is so much love in that poem, exactly as you said, dogs lavish love on us.  @BlueBay Seems to be a natural with that deconstructed, free poetry form.  She has written a couple tonight, and they are powerfully emotive. Just beautiful expression.  I think you inspire her !

Was sitting at the art centre with S2 and D2 today, listening to the crow's again .... I told S2 what they were ,actually saying, according to you, and he had a great laugh.

Love your dry, witty sense of humour !!
