Re: The Virtual Village - a space for parenting 'stuff'

Hi @Blep 🙂 Another thanks for the heads up with the username. How's the last day or so been with little one? Any luck with sleeping?

Re: The Virtual Village - a space for parenting 'stuff'

It has improved slightly @CheerBear but he still is waking up a lot in the morning. He finally did a 6hr stretch yesterday which was lovely but of course since I'm use to waking up all the time for him I woke up maybe 3 times. I know it is just a phase and it shall pass but gosh do I miss sleep

Re: The Virtual Village - a space for parenting 'stuff'

It's so hard when sleep is so disrupted @Blep. There's such a flow on effect often I find. Hope the phase passes soon for you.

Morning @saltandpepper @Blep @Former-Member @CheerBear @Determined .... and anyone else around.

How are you all going ?

Re: The Virtual Village - a space for parenting 'stuff'

Hey @Faith-and-Hope!

I'm going ok due to finally getting some sleep. My little man had a 6hr followed by a 3hr stretch of sleep last night which was fantastic. Now I'm having slight issues with my letdown. Hopefully it will sort itself out soon.

How was your day?

Re: The Virtual Village - a space for parenting 'stuff'

I am so pleased for you @Blep ❣️  Getting that much sleep makes a world of difference when you're dealing with young ones.  You mustn't know yourself today 😏

My day started well, but declined quite suddenly around our difficult separation situation.  Thankfully I have a heavy uni sssignmentbto focus my attention on, and trying to lift a heavy knot of anxiety out of the pit of my stomach .....

My daughter D2  is unaware of the dramas circling her, and the younger two S2 and D3 appear to have dived for cover for a bit.  They have moved into our art space, so they are a little removed.

Do you have plans for this evening ?  I have a cup of tea on the go, and heading back to my assignment soon.

Re: The Virtual Village - a space for parenting 'stuff'

I can relate with the everything declined. My night has been cries of hunger from the little guy because of a fast let down I have atm which lead to me secretly crying in the bathroom cos I feel like a failure. I know I'm not but my brain has not been in my corner for quite sometime.

If only I could plan things to do @Faith-and-Hope but with my little man everything is too unpredictable.

I hope your studying is a good distraction 😊

Re: The Virtual Village - a space for parenting 'stuff'

Studying is a great distraction @Blep ....it's a "have to" if I want to pass, and something I can get my brain lost in so it doesn't keep trying to turn over unsolvable problems - unsolvable ahead of time that is .....

A fast let-down can be treated by lying on your back to feed bub, and assisting him to latch on from above you.  It might seem weird in the moment you first try it, but it means he can control the flow much better, and gravity works for you on your end of things.

Re: The Virtual Village - a space for parenting 'stuff'

I'll give it a go @Faith-and-Hope 👍

Re: The Virtual Village - a space for parenting 'stuff'

It was something that was recommended to me by hospital staff for my babies @Blep.
