Hey little pea @greenpea I'm on a journey to fitness again after falling off the bandwagon just before Christmas! I'm sitting here typing on my laptop at the kitchen table, rather uncomfortably, as I did so many squats at my new gym I thought my legs might fall off! I don't mind except when I've got to walk up or down steps (and I live in a highset house), then I feel it hahaha!

Had a steady amount of walking each day getting to my course... and running for trains ... ha ha
but old neck got too heavy and really needed my rest. All I did today was a little gardening, but I climbed to 3rd rung on ladder ... not comfortable up there tho ... best stick to 2nd rung ... and stop pushing self.
Glad you guyz are still at it.
Not planning any great marathons this year ... just an extra activity that is physical based or more at home and walks.
Cheers

Good on you for all your health gains in last year. I loved swimming .. got into my 20 laps zone ... and yes you are right routine helps.
The course was really well catered and I was in big salad mode at home so even though passing through town I just kept shovelling healthy food in and not bothered too much about watching food intake. It was great as the other musos and teachers etc ... were same as me ... can easily get in state where we forget to eat, but if its put out in front of us, then we load up our plates. Great to see lots tall skinny girls with huge plates. Refreshing to get away from all ... overly mannered ... after you ... nobody eating last piece ... terribly polite nice lady stuff ... we were jokingly told we would not be allowed to leave if there was any food left. The focus was MUSIC ... there was plenty of that.
I wore good walking shoes which helped too.

only real health gain was stopping smoking, the rest is a work in progress @Appleblossom sounds like you had a good night. I used to do 20 laps of Olympic size pool, but last time longer ago than I realised, and longer still when did regularly, will get there, dont really love it, just want to be able to do it if that makes sense

But you did it @TAB
Oooh now I remember as a kid getting my safety cert ... killing myself to finish the 4 laps at Sydney Olympic pool. Yeah plenty of times it was a big struggle for me.
When I swam regularly it was like meditating.

It was the one thing I managed to share with my father. I was lousy at diving when I did that cert.Belly whacker. I just got into the class, so they could fill it and run it. it was with my primary school in grade 4. 200 metres was probably not good planning ... but the sink or swim metaphor was applied very often to me ... I did not know any better. My other sister did her Herald and was rapt to swim 25 metres in year 8. I always had too much pressure on me.
Dad taught me to dive a couple of years later and gave me Love of water and beaches swimming and boats. Not bad for the things they said about him in my ward file ...
@greenpea Hope you are doing well.
