Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

Started the day extremely tired to the point of head on desk while trying to post to the forum. Even two hours later I was still as tired. Then I opened my activities list. This got me going and I then got more done than expected, given how tired I was:

  • washed, dressed, made bed, opened blinds, turned on music (reduces low mood)
  • did clothes washing, 2 loads and hung on line
  • spot vacuuming of my bedroom and bathroom
  • unloaded dishwasher and reloaded with new dirty dishes
  • tidied up kitchen
  • made lunch (tuna and mayo sandwich)
  • arranged get together with friend on Friday
  • checked mail
  • meditated
  • forum in between things.

Energy levels improved with activity. Didn't get out of the flat because it was too hot and humid. Hoping for better luck on that tomorrow maybe. All up though, satisfied enough with this day.

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

Oh wow @Mazarita. That is awesome. Well done you! I had thought about writing here this morning as I was having another low motivation day. It didn’t get any better but you’ve just motivated me (now it is cooler) to go and get done what I really need to......empty and clean my car because it’s finally booked in to the mechanic tomorrow.

Thanks for sharing your day and motivating me in the process. πŸ’œπŸ€—

Awesome, @TeejSmiley Very Happy

It was @eth who got me going this morning, just by being here to engage my sleepy mind and wake it up enough to open the activity list. Smiley Happy

I also just did another job, a nasty one. Luckily C helped. Had to go downstairs into our storage shed and try to find some things to be sent to Melbourne. Of course they were in the last box we checked! Sweat galore at this point! Smiley LOL

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

Maz I was thrilled to read your story last night of getting that very awful job done. I finally finished my car early this morning, finished vacuuming it at 10:30 last night. Feeling relieved to have finally do it. Now to wait for the huge mechanic bill. I’m very scared. My car needed so much love in every aspect. It hasn’t been roadworthy for months so I’m hoping that we can get her up to scratch and we’ll looked after. The poor old girl doesn’t have to teach anymore kids to drive. Yay.
I’m going in circles today trying to work out what to do that will make me feel like I’ve achieved something. The list is huge. @CheerBear just inspired me to do something today that will have a positive change somewhere. I really like the concept of what can you do today that your future self will thank you for......the problem is the list is huge!
So here I am spinning in circles not achieving anything but feeling motivated and looking for some help to chose something and start. This is one of my nemesis days. Mood ok but putting pressure on :face_with_rolling_eyes:😳
Any thoughts ideas from anyone greatly appreciated. πŸ’œπŸ€—

Oops and thanks to @eth who helped motivate @Mazarita who helped motivate me yesterday. πŸ’œπŸ€—

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

Thanks for the tags here @Teej @Mazarita  I think I'm in need of this thread.  Maz your list for yesterday looks quite achievable for me too.  I laughed when you said the things you looked for in the shed were in the last place you looked - you wouldn't keep looking after you found them now would you?!

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

Good morning, @Teej. Awesome work getting the car clean, so pleased it worked out. Smiley Very Happy

Today, just start with one thing on the list, preferably the easiest, just to get you going. Keep your eye on the now and what you can do in this moment only. One activity at a time. You will not get through a vast list so don't worry about that part of it. That just means there will be more good ideas of things to do tomorrow and the day after, etc. Heart

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

Haha, @eth, you are right. Just about the last place there was to look in the shed is what I meant. Many boxes and bits of junk spilled out onto the garage floor before we got to it. Smiley Tongue

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

Lol @eth I did giggle about finding it in the last place you looked.
Thanks @Mazarita. I think my issue is which project to start. Each one is huge on its own. But I guess that I will have to work out what will work for me the best. From Thursday we have about 5 days over 37 degrees again so I’m mindful about that too.
On a side note the mechanic just rang. $3000 to fix my car 😱. That’s how bad it was. It’s so not roadworthy but I need it still.

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

Oh my, @Teej, that is a big repair bill!!! Smiley Surprised

If each of the jobs on your list is huge, I would recommend picking first of all the one that is least objectionable. And then breaking it down into smaller components. Then take one component of the job at a time and that only. Then come back here and skite that you have done each small unit. For me that fosters a sense of achievement and also motivates to do the next component. That way you can get through some of it at least, maybe all of one job.

My other suggestion is make the decision on what you are going to do fast. Don't overthink! Smiley Wink
