Sometimes recovery needs some distractions. A good distraction could be an art project. So let's grab a piece of scrap paper and a pen or pencil and do a simple drawing. These drawings are designed for children to follow so I think we should all be able to manage it. Each week I will post a youtube video to follow and each of you do the drawing. It's up to you if you want to share your results with everyone else or not. I am looking forward to getting started. Please find the first video posted below. Also please tag more members to come join in.

I think this sort of thing is a great idea! Can we have regular posts (within the correct "Space") where we can share things like our art and hobby projects?

Sure do you want to share them here or start a new thread for your other projects? It’s up to you, I am happy either way

Hi @Oaktree,
I think maybe this post should remain just being related to the drawings from your videos. Perhaps another post for general hobbies/interests (if one doesn't already exist)?

I said I wouldn't make time for drawing @Oaktree , but on second thoughts, as soon as I get back to Melb, I'm going to get a Visual Art diary and draw. I may find it more refreshing and helpful than I first anticipated! Stay tuned and I'll post my work up once I'm done 🙂
Great thread!

Thanks @tyme
Maybe it’s something that you can do with the kids? I am looking forward to seeing some results. I haven’t had a chance to start yet as we are shifting all our stuff ready for our ceiling to be replaced. Luckily the man has just canceled for tomorrow and will come next Wednesday instead

I'll see if I can do some with the kids later today @Oaktree . My other nieces and nephews are coming over at 5pm. So the 5 kids will need taming. Good idea!

You don’t need a fancy visual diary for now, just a sheet of printer paper will do. There is a tiny bit of colour in this picture so you may need texta’s. You could ask the kids to bring some with them. I have a sketch pad so will do my drawings in there. It will be interesting to see if they improve over time.

I know the kids absolutely love Art Hub. @Oaktree It keeps them quiet for a long time. I just have to remember NOT to compare the kids' work because my younger nephew is so good a drawing. Much better than his 9 yo sister. I just have to remember to say that all their work is good 🙂
