Re: Taking the plunge

It's good to know I was on the right track with ultracal and needing to post it @Maggie. I was really umming and ahhing about what to do with it but might just go with ordering it today. Thank you. The candle holder looks awesome ❤ I bought a sphere and the number 3 sized mould. Big yay! 😁 Unwell person, who has found dotting so therapeutic, is going to have a go at stones also 😊

Were you born in Australia? (I'm sorry if this is coming out as prying - just interested so no need to answer). Estranged and then some is very tough. I'm curious as to what it is about your relationship with this bro that has kept you together-ish. Digging around family history can be hard though so again, no need or pressure to answer.

You're amazing Maggie ❤

I relate with the cleaning and feeling a bit better for it. I feel better with an organised house (and am clearly a sucker for punishment as 'organised' and 'children' don't go so well together!).

I painted the two other stones yesterday but no more. Did the pic come through in the end? I'll have another go at uploading it if it didn't. Last night was wonky. Big was in a mood, Middle snapped their cast and Mr Person needed some debriefing after a tough day. I went to bed dreaming of an escape from everyone and everything 😑

We have to work school around calls from both teachers and a telehealth appt with GP all before 10 this morning. I don't know why I feel so stressed about school this week but I do. Like a lot. Ugh. Paint will be a gentle treat when I can get time and space and allow myself to do that.

A quiet good morning and a tea for you too @Former-Member ❤💜

Re: Taking the plunge

I will look for the mould making demo @CheerBear . My second lot were not as good as the first. You can get little air bubbles that leave holes. Tapping and blowing all helps. I find it later.

I think unwell person will do it really well. They are good this stuff, possibly patient too.

I was born in Ireland @CheerBear. We immigrated to Australia when I was 7, to Mt Isa. It felt like hell. One big reason why heat and I don’t get on. Then back to Ireland when I was 14, then NZ for 20 yrs. ex wanted to travel, so we came to Tasmania. I love this little island.

I’m not sure why bro and I have stuck together. We are both a bit like the black sheep I think. I broke my relationship with 2 a few years back. I shared a little of my past, and it was rejected. So I no longer keep in touch, it was my choice with two. Survival mode maybe. Hard to really know.

The pic hasn’t come through. But I’m pleased you did some painting. It’s tough with so many needing you support and attention. Try to find space for you if you can. I know it’s a really big ask.

Its a big day ahead for you. Lots of these 💕💕💕💕

Re: Taking the plunge

I am really thankful I get to pick your brain when it comes to how to do these stones and dots @Maggie , thank you Heart Unwell person has lots of time and finds it enjoyable and calming. All very good stuff for them. Here are my other two with the two I did on Saturday. It's been good practice (and makes me want that order to arrive asap now haha)

Wowzers you have moved around a lot. Mt Isa from Ireland is a massive change. Glad you have found the little island a nice place to settle. So much more is clicking about what it might have been like for you. Huge hugs.

Bonding with a fellow black sheep Heart I am sorry you were rejected by others. Families can be so toxic and cause all kinds of tricky and wonky Smiley Sad

I am going to start the sunlight hours part of my day by having a shower and setting up the classrooms (lol Smiley Frustrated ) Shower will be good and might help to wash away some of the grrr feels I have thinking about our little world here.

So nice to share wee hours with you. It is always a good start to the day 🌈💚

Re: Taking the plunge

Make Your Own Stones to Paint!!Thank you so much for a wonderful product! Angela at the Happy Dotting Company sent me one of these molds to try and there was no disappointment! If you are having trouble finding stones oh, this is your answer. Also if you are just someone who would like the stone ...

Re: Taking the plunge

@CheerBear  Your pic has come through. Your stones are absolutely beautiful . 😍😍😍

🤞🤞🤞for today. 💜💜💜💕💕💕

Re: Taking the plunge

Thanks @Maggie ❤ So, so much appreciate your gentle nudging towards getting my craft on 😊 I really needed it.

After cursing my way through the dishes and tidying, I put my order in for ultracal 30. I found a not silly bonkers price (still a mega treat). 5kg for about the same as I have seen 3kg in other places. That should make a few stones 🙂

Yay 🎉 Now to dream and imagine until it arrives.

Hope today has some good in it ❤

Re: Taking the plunge

I feel sad and stretched today (and so ready to quit playing teacher 😑). It is SO full on to be helping, encouraging, motivating etc both the younger two. It's constant. They are constant. Little needs a lot of help to stay on track and engaged. Middle is struggling to do their work with their cast on as expected. Both need almost micromanaging 😑

I realised I have no chance at all of doing this while doing my volunteer gig as I hoped I'd be able to, and I feel miserable about that. I miss Mr Person and miss our family. I'm missing simple things like school drop off and pick up, and quiet time to myself. I'm think I am really missing normal life a whole lot today 🙁

Re: Taking the plunge

@CheerBear  Really hearing how hard this is right now. I have no words, but will sit with you quietly.

I read somewhere today   ‘ Listen and Silent’ use the same letters. No coincidence I think.

I’m cleaned out. My vacuum arrived today, but it will have to wait till some energy arrives.

Sending lots of 💜💜💕💕

Re: Taking the plunge
