Thinking of you with your teacher/parent hats today @CheerBear .

Re: Taking the plunge

Hi @Maggie and @CheerBear   following along as usual here.  CB I do hope today goes as smoothly as possible for you with parent-teaching and house repairs.  As if you needed anyone else coming to disrupt everyone.  I did home school with my child at one stage and I know how difficult it is to wear all the hats at the same time.  Because 'friend' comes into the mix as well.  It really is a juggle.  Sending you strength and perseverance.

Maggie I hope you too can find some extra colour today.  You've said more here than what I knew about how things are for you.  I'm guessing that if you can find activities that you have to concentrate on e.g. your cross-stitch, your painting, that it helps to keep some sort of balance in your mind.  I could easily be wrong here, as your challenges are different from mine.  Hope your day goes smoothly too and that you have some contact with your brother.

Trying to get up the impetus to do a coles online order.  No idea why I've been delaying it.

Take care both of you, and anyone else here today xoxo

Re: Taking the plunge

Something very strange happened - my children are ready to start the day without any need to argue with them Smiley LOL. Middle made Little brekkie, the two I am supervising are dressed and ready for a walk to start the day (Middle wearing roller shoes Smiley Frustrated ) and they have their books and pencil cases out. I don't know what is going on lol. We made a bit of a timetable for each of them for today and they are looking at the clock ready to start. I have a sneaking suspicion this is how it will turn out

but I am rolling with it for now.

Just wanted to share my little chuckle Smiley Tongue

Re: Taking the plunge

@CheerBear what a lovely surprise for the start of your day with them.  That really augurs well.  Look forward to seeing your picture.  My granddaughter age nearly 6 took to school at home like a duck to water recently.  Finished her 1st week's work on the 2nd day!   Sending wishes that your 3 love it too.

Re: Taking the plunge

That's very impressive with your granddaughter @eth. Big will be fine. The littler ones - nope. I think the sole parent thing plays in to the struggle with them for me. School is so much more than work for us. It's a whole community and support network that we are very much in need of and missing. But hope it helpful and there are moments of fun, enjoyment and love, even if they are a bit circus-like 😜

Hope you're going OK eth. Sending you some love (as I take kick myself off the forum and get moving!)

Re: Taking the plunge

@eth  Thankyou. You are a very kind caring person. Lots of these for you. 💛💛💛💛💛

I will definitely try distraction today. I read ⬆️⬇️⬅️➡️ Somewhere, you are doing tee shirt knitting. I looked it up. It really looks very interesting. I hope it’s going ok today.

Cant see pic yet @CheerBear  but smiling already. That’s a good start. 👍👍

Lol @CheerBear

Re: Taking the plunge

@CheerBear  You might need a strong one this morning. Leaving one here.

I hope yesterday was ok. School, parent, fix it , with the rest in between.

My vacuum cleaner arrived. One of the wheels was broken off, so I spent most of the morning communicating with the seller. We though we had come up with a solution, then I found a crack in the connection. So it has to be returned unfortunately. It looks like rough treatment by the courier . So, I repackaged it. Waiting for it to be picked up now. The owner was really good about it all, and apologetic. So I’ll be looking for another now.

Today looks quieter. If it doesn’t rain, I might do some tree freeing.

I hope today is looking manageable for you all. 💕💕💕

Re: Taking the plunge

Morning @Maggie and hi to any and all who might come by 👋

I have a nasty headache again 🙁 I've taken pain relief and am waiting for that to kick in. I think I might have to see my dr about these headaches as they're starting to become a problem.

That sucks a lot with your vacuum and needing to organise it's return and now another one 😏

Yesterday went really well here thanks. Both littler ones had fun and enjoyed the freedom of planning out their day. I made a bit of a timetable with blocks for learning - one tech free block, one with tech if needed (research, recording etc.) and one creative block, then they decided what work to do in each block from their task lists. We broke it up with snacks, lunch and outside activities. We went for a walk - one on skate shoes and one on bike. They did their Lego challenge too. It was a lot of effort and a lot of work for me also, but it went better than I thought it would. I think the block kind of separating of our day really helped keep focus and be productive so we'll do that again. Today I'm working around an appt I have with my counsellor so we'll see how that goes.

I didn't talk with real estate. I chose my battles yesterday. That's first up today though.

Aside from vacuum muddle, how was your yesterday? Tree freeing if the weather stays clear sounds good today 😊

Re: Taking the plunge

A nasty headache is not a good start to today @CheerBear  I would recommend a dr visit. Do you get stress headache? ( I hope that’s not a silly question).

Your timetable with blocks etc sounds really good. Snacks and walk as well, you are doing very well. 👍👍👍 Do you do a different timetable everyday, or stick with one.? I suppose variety comes into that part.

So the window is happening this morning. That means you had a cold night? I hope it goes without too much drama. Picking your battles is wise. Knowing your limits also. 💛💛

Yesterday was messy. That kind of stuff messes with my head big time. Plus repackage was tricky, bulky, awkward and draining. I did a little C stitch, but concentrate was pretty much done. Tree freeing today will be good I think. Rain has stopped, sun is out already, some fresh air always blows some cobwebs away. That’s the hope anyway.
