Re: A long rave

@Appleblossom sorry I cannot find the other thread it was on and I may have got the conversation incorrect but it was talking about incarceration of mentally ill people. Now the thing is I cannot unerstand why when I was so sick and doing such bizzare things (the stuff that I can remember) that I was not picked up off the streets by the boys in blue and taken to a mental health facility.

Do you think it had something to do with the fact that I am a 50 something female and was functioning at some level albeit strangely compared to a younger male person who may be considered a danger to himself or others because he is a young male. What are your feelings on this?

Re: A long rave

Yes. @greenpea

Actually I think you are highlighting a bias in policing attitudes.  In some ways we older ladies are luckier, than the young men.

I had to sit down on a road to get attention..

Heart

Only did it once, but police and ambos came for me. First time for everything.

Re: A long rave

Hi @greenpea and @CheerBear, notice you were online behind the like button about half an hour ago. Wonder if you are still awake. Smiley Happy

I haven't been to sleep yet. I wonder if I'll be able to go to the neurologist appointment today. I have to leave home at about 11.45 to get there in time. I've been scared and paranoid about someone, not here on the forum. It's made me fearful about going to bed and brought on a headache. The nausea stays away if I sit up here.

I have to say I'm happy to see you both, even if I've missed you by a bit of time. Smiley Happy

Re: A long rave

Morning @Mazarita. Sounds like you've had a pretty rough night. Feeling scared and paranoid about someone definitely can make it tricky to sleep!

I've been tossing and turning and on/off sleeping since 3:30 but I've had enough of that now and am about to make a coffee. It wasn't the best night here either.

Hugs and hi to any/all who might be about

Re: A long rave

Morning hugs, then, @CheerBearHeart

I'm going to make a coffee too. Smiley Happy

Re: A long rave

There's a smidgin of light in the eastern sky here, @CheerBear. Just heard the first bird. It was just over 4 degrees here a little while ago.

Re: A long rave

Coffee in hand for me and two others up already now here. It's still really dark, and cold and windy. Twinkling stars in the sky are making me smile โ˜บ

I was just about to follow that with asking what it's like where you are @Mazarita, when the tag/email above came through ๐Ÿ˜Š

Is 4 degrees cold for where you are? It's 8 here (strange it's warmer here!) but the wind is so chilly it 'feels like' 2.

Re: A long rave

My coffee's a third drunk now, @CheerBear. Sky looks like a dark light blue, if that makes any sense, lol. Yes 4 degrees is cold for here. At night. In the day it is forecast warm, like about 24. Lucky to have winter weather like this. Cold wind is not my favourite thing, but it must be bracing. Hope you are wrapped up warm. I'm in my giant fluffy dressing gown but am inside on the desktop. No more bird sounds here yet.

Re: A long rave

Oh 24 sounds so good @Mazarita! We have a low teen forecast as our high here, but that wind is supposed to linger so it won't feel it at all. As much I enjoy some parts of winter, I'm getting a little sick of the cold now. I have two pairs of pj pants on, a singlet, hoodie, beanie and my big dressing gown, and my fluffy blanket. Such a sook ๐Ÿ˜†

If you do make it to your appointment today, how will you be getting there? Is it one of the long public transport rides to go?
