Re: A long rave

@eth You cabin sounds perfect. I could just imagine it as you were describing it in such great detail. Sounds like it has a wonderful feel to it. ps: We dont have a sofa either I want to live my life like a gypsy as much as possible :P.

My daughter like I am sure you know was actually born a male but decided at age 18 that she wanted  to be a girl now she is inbetween and told me the other day that if she knew then what she knows now she wouldnt hve done it at all!! Kids! As long as she is happy I really dont care 🙂

You do have a wonderful brother and sil. I am sure they feel the same way about you being wonderful 🙂 xxx

Re: A long rave

Hi @eth, @greenpea, just caught up with your posts. Eth, I love the sound of your place. Also sounds great that you now have the possibility of visiting sil's mum. Hope you enjoyed lunch with her. By the way, we have no sofa either, only two armchairs. The place is too small for a sofa and the chairs. We eat all our meals on our laps. A bit of gypsy here as well. Woman Happy

Re: A long rave

@Mazarita Sorry you are going through a dental nightmare and health stuff bad.

I think that many people with MH issues get less attention to physical health issues, for many reasons, some of it doctor stigma.  So it is helpful for me to see what others are able to achieve.  Yes like eth's pathology tests, I think after being so long on heavier meds, they should be doing more tests checking on med side effects.  Better late than never. I hope they respond positively when you ask.

@eth I love the sound of your pad ... you are one groovy lady!

@greenpea I love your chipper ways.  I have had a week of dawns and can see some of the delight, not sure if it would ever be a natural choice for me.  We are going back to having a lot of peak energy requirements for night time rehearsals, so I suspect our hours will slip a bit.

I think there will be a few more young people who were shown too much choice re gender positions in adolescence.  It is very tricky with the current debates.  How does a society shift from awful homophobic laws to inclusion but not over bombarding young minds and bodies with TMI.

Heart

I had a good session today with my social rehab worker.  She has now seen my worst day scenarios and my best days.  We will start preparing for the NDIS rollout.  They are telling people not to accept phone assessments and to ask for face to face.

My cold sores have had a major breakout, so though I am feeling good, my body has been stressed and I look a mess.

Re: A long rave

@Appleblossom Dear Appleblossom what a lovely compliment thank you 🙂

I couldnt agree with you more ...  but my daughter is fine about it all being gender neutral (atm anyway ... am not going to worry about what hasn't happened yet. Leave that for the future if it happens.).  I am so sorry about your cold sores (virtual hugs for those cold sores)  they are awful things aren't they I hope they disappear for you quickly xxxx

Re: A long rave

Thanks @greenpea  I am glad the gender issues are not too troubling atm for you or your child.  Yes very wise not to imagine problems, life sends enough our way to juggle.

On the weekend, I had the weirdest dream about ear wax accumulating and then pouring out of my head and then woke up with the biggest infection of cold sores ever - about 6 all at once.  I have a lot of issues around my head and skull, physically as well as mentally.  I bought stuff so we will see how they go.  Its mainly a sign of immune system and not to push myself.

My zoo contact was desperate for night workers and I explained I was run down and she was very understanding about me not doing outside night work.  It is very validating that my ordinary health has been treated with respect and I have been able to say "sorry but no" and receive a lovely response to look after my health.

Re: A long rave

Hi @Appleblossom

I use pawpaw ointment when I get coldsores. I may be peculiar, but I find it more effective than the chemist ointments. I've had outbreaks of them for a long time, but only occasionally get them now. I hope whatever you have works well and rapidly for you. So great that you were able to say no and get a good response at the Zoo.

With my medical treatment, I've pondered it a bit more and I do trust my GP. My blood results on a roughly annual basis have come back mostly okay. They have actually improved since I slightly altered my diet and started getting more exercise. She and I have been sharing my health journey since 2010. She also helped me majorly with the DSP application, which I desperately needed then, and need to continue, considering the chronic mental and physical health problems I have. She is a lifeline for me really. Smiley Happy

I think the point you made about treatment of physical health for people with MI is very valid though. It's really important to find a good doctor if you can, I think. I'm sure stigma plays a part in many situations, sadly. I have been proactive, and lucky too.

Re: A long rave

Glad that your Gp has been very helpful for you.  @Mazarita I was not meaning she was letting you down, but thought it still valid to say, in general, and just in case.

The zoo thing was good because the way I am wired I tend to "do it" or bust, and I need a more careful and conservative apporach to my health these days.  So it means I have established enough credibility with them and they have been flexible with me, so that it looks like the zoo can continue to be a positive facet of my life.

I was so used to NOT be heard when I asked for help or cried out in pain. That is finally changing and it is an amazing experience for me.

I am really glad about your  positive feelings about social engagement. You.ve come a long way too.

I used to get into this "prove my love/worth" mode etc in freindships and all relationships.  It was all too extreme, and now I have been around the block a few times, I know that many people manage with only a few friends or supports in their whole lives.  That the appearance of popularity is often a glaze and not the substance.

Just had a yum roast duck and watched a tv show with my son..

Hope all who pass through, reading this thread ...
