Re: Welcome to the Friends, Family and Carers Group Hub! Introduce yourself here ๐Ÿ™‚

I'm new and look to meet people who are experiencing the same loneliness, anxiety and depression as myself. For now I'll mostly be reading other posts to gain a little confidence before I join the conversation properly.

I like, play and own over 2000 video games I enjoy talking about with people. It's my main interest in life.

Hi I'm Liss,

My 24 year old daughter was just diagnosed as Bipolar 1 after 5 years of trying to find an answer, 1 that fits.

It has been an absolute roller coaster of a ride and currently still is, but I think now we may be getting on the right path.

The more she and us learn about Bipolar the more she seems to be able to put into words what she is going through.

I hope to learn and find people with who I can laugh with, vent to and get advice from.

Hi Liss @Elepots, I have a 24 year old daughter who is being treated for bipolar 1. We have also been on this journey for 5 years. I have joined this forum to find other people in similar situations to share information and support.

Hopefully our girls can get to a good place soon.

Hi all

I'm trying to navigate the issues my 28 year old son is facing. He's withdrawn from society and hardly ever leaves the house. Unemployed and uses his issues as an excuse. Will sometimes agree he needs help but won't take a positive step to dealing with his issues. I'm at a complete loss as to how I can help him and not just be his crutch.

Hey @Dingo1964 welcome! I am sorry to hear about how difficult things are at the moment for you and your son. I imagine many here can relate to the frustrations of seeing a loved one struggle, but also do nothing to help themselves.

Hope you find what you're looking for here ๐Ÿ˜Š

Re: Welcome to the Friends, Family and Carers Forum! Introduce yourself here ๐Ÿ™‚

hi @Mumto8 I know this post was a few years ago and I'm new to this forum. Going through exactly the same thing with my 28 year old son. I hope things have settled for you both in the last couple of years.

Re: Welcome to the Friends, Family and Carers Group Hub! Introduce yourself here ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for my welcome to the Hub.

I have been a carer for my son for 39 years. He was born with an intellectual disability.

Life has certainly been difficult for both him & myself. Finally after all this time he now has great support workers & access to the therapists he needs.i can see some light at the end of the tunnel for me being able to have some time to myself.
