Hi,
I am feeling shocked at the people in my life, family and long term friends who have stopped contacting me after my child's diagnosis.
Some in truth I'm not surprised about and others I am.
I have rationalized that people don't understand the situation, and other maybe feel awkward in discussing it.
It really has made me question values that people really have.
I do have others that maybe don't understand but still contact.
I try hard not to offload on them and save that for my professional visits.
It's sad but that's how life's relationships go I guess.

Hey @Panda2 ,
I'm sorry to hear about what's been happening. It sounds so hard to lose people in your life because of a diagnosis. I wonder if fear is part of it where they just don't know what to say?
It doesn't mean you have done anything wrong.
We are here if you need a chat.

Hi Tyme,
I'm sad of the loss of significance people in my life, angry that they have abandoned me at a time that I most need them around, and confused at why they have not been in contact.
Lots of reasons and feeling going around in my head.
At the moment mostly angry and feeling that I don't want to make contact with them again.
I have been open about our situation without going into major details.
I know that I would never do the same to someone I cared about.

Thank you for the response . I understand that I have done nothing wrong.
It's a time when relationships are tested I guess.

I feel for you. You need to keep your connections open but also find your tribe. Community connections can broaden your world. Look beyond your usual daily patterns to find the worlds that coexist with yours. They are around us but you have to work a little harder at first to find them. I connect with the markets and people there : ) You could explore libraries in your area or other community events and try to get ingrained in local community just as you are : ) I am sure you will find people who fee as you that everyone is welcome. You just have to look deeper : ) good luck and may the earth nurture you and family : )
