My partner has Bipolar Type II and a history of Eating Disorders and self harm. I suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Major Depressive Disorder. We both have a seperate pschologist and psychiatrist who provide us with specialised treatment and support, but we are the front line of each others mental health support team. We both live thousands of kilometers from family, and we both look forward to utlising SANE to share expereinces with other carers and other sufferes of mental health issues and illnesses.

Having different professionals can be a plus or minus. My husband and I are carers for our son and we all see the same GP which we find helpful. However it has taken a few years for them to all co-ordinate their efforts. This has come about because the GP has contacted them herself as she found they did not report to her at all. This is also a problem when we see specialists for other matters. Some just do not bother to send a report to the doctor who has to relay on patient feedback. Communication is a key factor in effective treatment of THE WHOLW FAMILY.

Hi Pax. Thanks for sharing your story. That's quite the combination of mental health concerns that you both have to live with. I think that It's fantastic that you are able to care for each other despite having some quite different health concerns. Like yourself I am very much looking forward to utilising SANE to feel connected.
Stay strong
Harry
