Now this I could write an essay on. In my opnion, this has so many reasons why it is so very important to the acceptance and moving forward process that I can't begin to touch on it here.

In this last five minutes, can we please share any final thoughts on this topic on CBT and Mindfulness for carers with @snowlee127?

@Former-Member@soul I am so glad to see you all found writing is helpful. From a neuroscience perspective, writing things down involves a different cognitive process than just thinking. To process it to a sentence and write it down involves making sense of the sentence. To process things, psychologists would recommend people to document their thoughts and it applies to setting goals and self-awareness as well. Writing it down biologically makes a difference!

I have only just been able to join, so sorry if this is a repeat question. What is the most effective way to do a CBT course? And where can I find one?

@Socks, we can't tell you what the most effective way to do a course (as this differs from person to person), but @snowlee127 can provide you with an option!

I like to thank you all for your contribution as you are the experts of applying the skills. I think from our conversations today; we can definitely see how each of us integrated both techniques in our own way. Carer's psychological health is important, not to say other's isn't but we know, for the fact that carers are at higher risk of burn-out. I found inspirational to learn each of you's journey. We will continuously advocate for support for carers.
With the continuous development of the Integrated Carer Service, we are hoping to see more innovative, person-centred support for carers. As each carer has a unique story and caring journey, support should be individualized and innovative. In our submissions to the proposed Integrated Carer Support, we have highlighted the importance of accessible psychological support for carers. We will also be continuously working with clinical services, research bodies, NGOs and the community to explore ways to best support our community.
Thank you again for being you!

Thankyou @snowlee127 this has been a lot of food for thought and most insightful. I will have to read back over many of your responses because it has been hectic trying to keep pace. Appreciate the time you have given and the quality information you have provided. Also your insightful responses. Thankyou.

@snowlee127 Writing formalises the thinking process. I too could probably write a book @Former-Member. Five years ago I would never have predicted how my life would be. Oh to turn back the hands of time.
But you are right. There's no going back and there is no crystal ball. Regret and worry are draining emotions. All we can do is live in the present. Now to take my own advice.

And that's a wrap for tonight! Thanks so much @snowlee127 for your wise words and expertise on CBT and Mindfulness for carers. It was a lively discussion where I think we all learnt about from each others. Thanks also to everyone who participated tonight and imparted their knowledge and experiences.
I will leave this thread open for another five minutes to get a few final responses in.
