Re: R U OK?

@Former-Member , sometimes a break from SM is necessary for our own well-being.

So sorry to hear about the passing of your friend πŸ˜”.

Sadly I don't think it is weird that family have not visited. Despite good intentions, the reality for most people who move is that family visits are often few and far between. Finding a caring community at s club or the like that helps give a sense of place can be helpful. We have not long moved ourselves and are now approx 4.5 hrs away from family. Despite them being grateful that we are closer I don't know when they will visit. We physically cannot catch up with everyone when we visit them, not sure how often we will make the trip, was thinking monthly, but will probably end up being every 2nd or 3rd month.

Finding a doc + other supports that match our personalities can be a challenge too. Are you comfortable tapping into phone supports if things are a bit shaky for you until you find someone suitable?

Re: R U OK?

Thanks @Former-Member, I really appreciate your level head. I just rang suicide callback for 15min but I don't want emergency services on my doorstop but so... They think a 'griefline' and 'self care' shower could be more helpful.

Apparentlythere's a 'glitch' here on forums, weird things happening... I think divine intervention let me find you. Needed someone sensible πŸ’œ

Aww, think my dog knows how upset i am, she's really smoochy today πŸ’—

@Former-Member

Comfort from our K9s = πŸ˜€

Did they give you the grief line phone number? They operate midday to 3am (calls to help line are free, not sure about in person counseling).

Hello @Former-Member  @Former-Member

You might remember me.. @Former-Member

I am the one who did not fit on this side of the forums...

I want to thank you personally for your responses to @Former-Member

An excruciating time .....

Diagnoses that are incredibly difficult to comprehend as for me are incredibly hard to diagnose...

That is me though..

Definitely help from a qualified specialist  required not from some young registrar in training..

The system..

hope that this does not put a spanner in the works

as I have a family member ....diagnosed from detainment. several times ........     .yet my belief is the level of experience diagnosing and also the artful behaviour required when being assessed....my family member ...had this perfected from an early age..

at what age were you certain that schizophrenia was the correct diagnosis?

Re: R U OK?

Hi @Former-Member, I'm ok thanks. How about you? Made APTS to really start looking after me, the parts causing pain atm: Dentist (really bad tooth for months), Radiology (u/s painful hip bigSmoke Dr ordered 2months ago). New GP (for MHCarePlan). Been in PJs sin funeral day, ignoring door etc but gotta do u/s today so will work at that. A art of me is quite depressed, another part's sick of it and will get me there lol
Hi @Sophia, how are you? πŸ™‚ I didn't see the brother's paranod schizophrenia coming, i lived away, both were formally idagnosed in their 40's (which is unusual) believed to be drug induced, but I think mum was undiagnosed Schizo Affective or bioilar. So far they've not found psychosis with me.

@Former-Member

 'Onya for making appts.

Hoping that medicals are readily treatable and that you get fast relief from toothache post dental visit.

Re: R U OK?

Hello @Former-Member

Thought that I would stop by and see how things are in your world at the moment...

hopefully you have been able to rest and nurture yourself....

losing someone in your life has a huge impact on physical as well as mental side of who you are..

You might find it takes a little while to regain all of your strength..

I read in your previous post about social media effects on different people.

I am the same as Darcy ...I think that social media has been proven to have negative impacts on different personalities and also people who are more isolated for what ever reason..

There have been many cases of bullying leading to catastrophic outcomes..

It often is centred aroung ego..self image...possessions....

everyone seems to look the same these days, where the same clothes,,shoes,,makeup ..hair colour..hair styles...pose the same...

all false...

what happened to individuality?

Well perhaps I am just a bore...

Checking out local community halls....local newspapers often have what's on..

I hope that life is improving for you..

hello @Former-Member thank you for the acknowledgement..I read that you have moved.. Hope that Mr Darcy is settling in new environmnent and life is settling as a whole for you both.

take care

Sophia

Re: R U OK?

Hi @Sophia1 - how are you? Thanks for stopping by.... my world at the moment is fine, spending time in the garden has helped. Spoke to two neighbours while out front garden this week, which takes away that 'totqlly isolated' feeling. And being here too. Still weird - the loss of my friend. I've decided to see it as 'shes not gone, she's still with us'  Felt her strongly the other day. Mum died last year and my 13yo in 2011, and a friend to Suicide in my 20's... And my sister's hating me is worse than a death, the brother siding with her like being in a war zone... My son buried in his career... They say we don't need our 'tribe' in this modern world , but it killls me. All this irl gets compounded by social media attracks (bullying). Gets hard when site moderattors (authority)  join the attack behind the scenes, take sides. So disempowering. So glad that doesn't happen on Mental Health sites :face_with_rolling_eyes: where people are already so valuable to rejection. That would really mess with heads and  equate to deliberate abuse. If I died -  coroners report would include all social media interactions πŸ€”  Na, im sarting to bounce back,  but yes, somewhat physically wrecked too.

Individuality is overrated, community is the answer, like The Waltons' - where people care - but impossible to find nowadays. Everyone's frightened.
