BDP- looking for a Psychologist for wife of husband with BDP

Hi

I have found myself here after coming to the end of my own strength to cope as a wife of a husband with BPD.

I am wondering if anyone knows a psychologist in south east Melbourne who they could recommend that is familiar with treating the partners of those with BDP?

Looking forward to your suggestions.

hi @Rose0 and welcome
We aren't able to suggest the names of people here unfortunately however you could try doing a websearch or using the Australian psychologist registry

Thank you @Determined I will take a read. A listening ear could make all the difference when I feel like I am hopeless.

Hi @Rose0  just checking in to see how things are going for you.

Hi @Determined
Thank you for checking in.
Things are going ok, we have had a few smooth days in a row which has provided some welcomed relief. It was all getting a bit much when I posted this in desperation.
I have found a clinical Psychologist who specialises in BPD, she is booked for the next month so I have taken the next available appointment. It could become an extremely expensive exercise though.

I’m very much looking forward to Family Connections which begins in a few weeks.

I think sometimes it is easy to feel like I’m only just keeping your head above water. 😊

Hi @Rose0  good to hear things are a little better for you at the moment.

Totally understand the posting in desperation as that is pretty much how I arrived here also and I'm sure many others here. The support here has been invaluable.  Only just keeping our heads.above water is also a common thread around here. Knowing this often gives me the strength to push on through sharing with people.who truly understand.

Trusting your upcoming appointments are of benefit for you.
