Re: Autism Asperger testing

Ha! @Glisten you and I would be a force of reckoning if we ever met 🤣 Cos I got the same brick throwin' urge I tell ya what!!

It really is so wild to me that people can get SO INVESTED in just... hating on someone for who they love or what's between their legs. Get a life!! Get a personality! Maybe I dunno, try caring about other people for once!

Yeah where's our modern speakeasy culture? lol

Glad it was helpful @Apple2!! Yes please do feel free to keep us updated! Here for ya on your journey 😊

Re: Autism Asperger testing

Hi

Why do you reckon we'd get along?

Re: Autism Asperger testing

We're a pretty friendly batch here @Apple2

I'm sure others would agree @Jynx @Glisten

Re: Autism Asperger testing

I think I have that

Re: Autism Asperger testing

@Apple2 being around neuro-typicals is exhausting for me.

Autism-ADHD symptoms overlap and it isn’t uncommon to be diagnosed with both @ArraDreaming

If you have the Tism, Forumland is the place to relax.

I don’t have to educate anyone about my brain 🧠

Re: Autism Asperger testing

Idk the diagnosis process seems expensive and long, is it really worth it as an adult? (Just my opinion) @Glisten

Re: Autism Asperger testing

@Glisten 1000%! It gets so exhausting trying to explain that no, it's not that I don't care or that I'm not trying, it's that there's a mental wall in my brain that feels physically impossible to break through, and sometimes you gotta wait for me to find my way around!!

@ArraDreaming in my opinion it would depend on why one is seeking the diagnosis. Sometimes it is so that we can access services (e.g. makes it easier to get onto NDIS) and sometimes I think it's cos it can feel very validating to get officially diagnosed, and will help in getting the right kind of support. If there's nothing in your life that getting an ASD diagnosis would be useful for, it might just be a money-hole indeed. Personally I think self-diagnosis for ASD is very valid, particularly in terms of then being able to join/access the ASD community.

Re: Autism Asperger testing

@ArraDreamingI can only speak for myself. It was 💯% worth every cent.

My behavioural change post diagnosis had a huge positive impact on my children.
