Something’s not right

Re: Not sure what to do !!!

Oh @Shaz51 That says it all really. I hope he can get some sleep soon and put today behind him for now.

Re: Not sure what to do !!!

Glad tomorrow is a holiday my sister @Zoe7 , even if it was not a holiday,  I would take the day off

I think he will be asleep soon xxx

Re: Not sure what to do !!!

I forgot it is a holiday tomorrow @Shaz51 - not a day I celebrate so it doesn't figure in my mind usually. I am glad for you two it is though so Mr Shaz can have some rest ...and you too my sister 💖

Re: Not sure what to do !!!

I'm sorry @Shaz51

You are right - why do doctors want to change things that are working? Why indeed?

But yes - you also have the choice of seeing other doctors

I hope Mr Shaz can get some rest and settle down - anxiety is terrible to live with - hard for you too

And great that you all had your booster shots and I hope you are all okay about it

I had mine before Christmas - it was soooooooooooo hard to get an appointment here in Melbourne but I managed to get on when someone cancelled theirs - I do have the luck of the Irish

All the best

Re: Not sure what to do !!!

Thank you @Jacques , @Owlunar , @Zoe7 , @BlueBay , @Determined , @Smc , @Rhye

Mr shaz is  not sure what to do , he is thinking about what the doctor said cutting his meds in half ,  but is scared of changing things --- if it is working , why change!!!

Re: Not sure what to do !!!

Hi @Shaz51

Actually, reading your posts reminds me of times when I wanted to make changes to my medication and it was the specialist who said - "If it's working, why change?"

From my point of view, I wanted to reduce the side-effects of the medication. Do you think the doctor wants that for Mr Shaz? I guess they need to weigh it up on the cost-benefit scale. It's good to speak to your doctor/s about your concerns - that is, if it's working, should you really make changes and potentially upset the stability?

The doctor may be able to shed more light on it.

Hello @Owlunar

Take care,

tyme

Re: Not sure what to do !!!

Yes very confusing @tyme

And thank you for your message as Mr shaz other doctor is happy for him to continue as to this new doctor

Soo we are going to get in contact with his other doctor which he saw last time

Mr shaz has tried to cut back ages ago but after nearly a week I said " you really need to take the full dose"

When the carer or wife can see the difference in decrease of meds does

I agree @tyme why change

And like with my elderly mum who is 90 and takes half a sleeping tablet to help he sleep and one doctor wants to take her off them

Re: Not sure what to do !!!

it is difficult to know what to do, i know what it is like, if he is coping ok but with the new meds out maybe they would help him have a better quality of life, it is such a difficult decision to make.

i hope you can both manage to find something that works.

Re: Not sure what to do !!!

Very true @Jacques

The doctor wants him to cut the meds in half,  not sure if Mr shaz is able to cope with h a half , if he wants to try and cut down or not

How are you my brother

We have had our boosters shot this week

Re: Not sure what to do !!!

True @Shaz51 - if medication can give him quality of life, take it.

Alternatively, a drastic HALF may be too abrupt for the body, especially if he has been on them for a long time.

In the past, I've reduced medication EXTREMELY slowly i.e. over years! I reduced very little at a time to give me body time to adjust and maintain that baseline.

It'll be good to consult the doctor and share your concerns/questions/wonderings.

All the best with it,

tyme
