Dredging up this post as things are a bit sad right now.
My cat wih cancer is pretty much on his way out, we are most likely having him put to sleep tomorrow. It's hard to have to make that decision, feels so cold even though we are doing iot to make sure he doesn't suffer.
I am coping ok, but it is sad and hard.

It is so hard witnessing and knowing a person or animal is suffering. We have to do what we can.
At my last vet visit a behaviourist offered her services for my more anxious cat ... $600 for 1 visit .. I cant afford it .. just can absorb the cost of the one ... and not really sure it would be justified ... the vet I did see said ruled out thyroid and scabies ... apparently he is over grooming ... she said she would call back in a couple of weeks

@Former-Member
I am so sorry to hear that you have been through this so recently yourself. It is so hard to do what you know is right when it is so painful to do. I am sure that you did right by your Ella, and cherished her in life and in memory.
We took our Sil boy to the vet today and helped him across the Rainbow Bridge. He had a wonderful last morning in the sunshine and went very peacefully at the end.
Hubs and I have been alternately consoling each other with happy memories and sobbing our hearts out. He's having a harder time than I am, Sil was very much a Daddy's boy.

Hi @Appleblossom,
Sorry to hear your cat is also having a rough time. We have used Rescue Remedy and the Feliway plugins with great success with our cats, and our boy used to overgroom due to a flea allergy, so keeping completely on top of his flea treatments made a huge difference. Our girl cats both have food allergies and need hypoallergenic food which stopped over grooming due to itchies.
