Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Haha @eth I'm also down for a walk to the beer garden! I think it's a few virtual kilometres.

@Shaz51 in virtual land we can choose the weather! Let's say it's a balmy evening, the sky is clear and stars are out. Would you like to join us for a walk?

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

LOL @CherryBomb I thought everyone had moved on already so I headed over there and am waiting on a virtual mulled wine as we speak.  Smells so good.  The spices should be good for my chest before bed. The walk was pleasant and it's not as far as you think!  See you when you get there 🙂  Anyone else coming for a quiet one?

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

LOL, I think I just missed you. I'm there now if anyone want to join us for a night cap! Also waiting for a glass of mulled wine. I think they're making it from scratch. Smiley LOL

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Hey @Bimby2, I just noticed your post! It was posted as individual post somewhere else so I moved it into here. If you're still around. Come and join us in the beer garden for a drink winkie.

@CherryBomb

Hi - I guess you are vegetarian - I am not but many years ago I added it to the family menu - it turns out it was the worst food in the world for one member of the family

I love it - and I learned how to prepare soy products properly - burt I am not 100% sure now

I used to buy soy grits at the health food shop - I think it was soy beans that had been frozen and dried then commercailly chopped - and I recollect that they were very tasty and gave a firm full taste as part of a desert. And of course - it usually takes two different animo acids to make a whole protein - and using something like soy grits and icecream was one way to make that protein

Good on you for sticking with such a diet - I do eat meat but not fat meat - I do not like it - my systems rebels -

But if you want to have a salad night - I make the best - I grow my own greens and herbs in my back garden - and I buy what I need as fresh as I can get it - and not just home made but home invented salads rate high in my opinion

For those who don't do alcohol they also have coffee and juice bars and amazing mocktails 🙂

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Haha @Decadian I grew up in a family of meat eaters, and most them feel the same as that one person in your family does - like its the worse thing ever.

I don't think I've every had soy grits based on what you've described. I'm always excited to hear about veggie options so will make a mission to find them this weekend when I do the grocery shop. Smiley Happy

Home grown salad is the best! I'd love a serve. Not sure how it'll go with my mulled wine. But it's Friday, so it means it's time for feasting.

I've been vegetarian now for about seven years now, with a stint of being vegan for a few years. It was tough at first, but now I don't think I could go back. The actually smell of meat makes me feel ill. I guss something changed in my body so I don't feel like I miss it anymore.
