When I started getting medication from my gp in regard to depression all the ones given to me had side effects. Once I went to a psychiatrist who knows more about mental health I was prescribed the correct thing for me. I'm still on the tablets 6 years on and I feel wonderful.
For me a combination of finding peace and acceptance of my issues and medication with my psychiatrist changed my life for the better.
Cheers

I have sideffects from my medication and am getting put onto another drug that may have the same sideffects. Not sure if i should just live with the sideffects or try the new one. Has anyone faced this dilemma?
In my experience I have had very different experiences from medications in the same class.
I've been on numerous atypical anti-psychotics and they all have various different side effects for me even though on the information listed they all had the same side effects. When I was on SSRIs the same thing also happened.
Drug companies list absolutely all possible side effects just to cover themselves. But there might only be a low risk of experiencing it - even for medications in the same class.
So yeah, if you have the time it might be good to try something else

I think most folks who have mental health problems have had this problem. For myself, I hated the zombie option, the robot man thing, the "oh look she has tardive dyskinesia and looks weird" thing
After a lot of mucking about and human experimentation ( on me) I have found one very dated drug that works without hideous side issues. Been on it for almost 3 decades ( yep I am an old person) and vigorously resist any attempt to try new super cool meds. When you have spent decades in therapy you do learn a thing or two.
l function, I sure ain't perfect, I wish I wasn't so dang fat but what the hey I am not crazy .....so i stick with the little red tabs.
