Re: ~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

Nighty night everyone

I’m going out for dinner : Indian : yummy

😋

@Dreamy @Jynx @Jacques @Blackcloud @AlwaysMyself

@TAB

my brother has come over to really see how sick mum is. My youngest brother has decided now mum is ( only) 83 but he’s telling my oldest brother  to pop mum in a home.
🏠

I am waiting for my brother + husband and listening to mum talk to her friend all this old people stuff. How ‘ proud she is of my oldest brother because he dusted her bookshelves. I’m noting he’s a university professor and he’s reduced to dusting mums stuff

Re: ~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

Night night sweet @PeppyPatti, hope you enjoy your yummy dinner ☺️

@Blackcloud *holding you safely in a hug if that is OK for you*

The images must be many pages back (not found them in the past few), but I think I get the concept without the specific images.

Sitting with the knowledge and regret for things done in the past can be really hard, especially when you have also been able to see the future effects of those actions.  If it helps any, I don't judge you for those actions. What I see if your reflection on those past things, and your genuine regret for it, and your desire/want to take responsibility and repair the damage done if possible. And those things? They are the sign of someone who is caringauthentictrustworthy, and a good person

I am guessing that your sisters autism makes explaining to her that you regret the things you did in the past, and that you are sorry, harder and a reduced ability for her to process/accept that?

I'm guessing that with low-functioning autism it makes is especially hard for her to process her trauma and regulate her fear herself, which in turn makes it hard for you to show her the changed you who is not scary or harmful, and a basis to be able to build on.

My heart grieves for that pain in you, @Blackcloud . I'm not sure what to say except that I'm really sorry; I wish I knew what to say more. But I don't think you are a "bad person", even knowing that you have regretfully caused your sister pain when you were younger. I still care about you. I still offer you hugs and my support.
