Hi,
I am semi new to sane. I joined around April last year after being severely injured in a hit and run accident and a relationship breakdown just after. I had a mate suggest here at the time and it was a great support for me before I gave up early on things and fell into a bit of a hole. Things have since gotten a lot worse with heavy drinking and prescription medication to try and numb things and I feel like I am ready to give up. I have changed anti depressants multiple times, seen different therapists and have given it my all but I am tired now and don’t really know what to do. I’m hoping to speak to people that have been there before or are feeling the same way. On top of the events of last year I’ve had depression and anxiety my entire life so I am used to feeling this way but at 34 years old I am exhausted and don’t know if I have the energy anymore for this

@Dean1990 I'm sorry to hear what you have been through. Mental health is such a battle that takes so much strength to fight through.
I know the feeling all too well of wanting to give up but I've received so much support from the community here and it's really helped me through alot of dark days. I really hope you find it the same and just knowing that you aren't alone going through this, we are here to support you however we can.
I'm here if you wanna chat, take it easy on yourself and when it all feels too hard just take things one step at a time.

@Dean1990 just want to also add that you can reach out to crisis lines if you need support such as Lifeline and Suicide call back service. You don't have to go through this alone.

Hi @Dean1990
I don’t have any helpful advice, and for that I am sorry. But I just wanted to let you know you aren’t alone. I’m 32 and have battled both depression and anxiety for just about as long as I can remember. Two decades at least.
our stories are a bit different, but I’ve tried antidepressant after antidepressant, different types of therapies and multiple therapists, a few psychiatrists, and I feel exhausted, too. I’m tired of trying. It’s all so much effort and work and I am so fatigued by it. Everyday feels like a battle and I just desperately want some kind of ease in this life.
so although I don’t have any wisdom to share, I’m here to sit with you in these feelings. I feel the same way. I’m tired. But we aren’t alone. I take some small comfort knowing there are others that have survived these situations and feelings and challenges. I think maybe we can make it through, too.
