Hi @Dimity Muddling along is how I feel, a lot of the time too.
My Birds are doing well, thanks.
Although a few passed away over the cold wet Winter, which is always sad.
Mrs Red-Billed Firefinch was gone yesterday.
So now Mr Red-Billed Firefinch is on his own - Though he does have Bengalese Finches & Canaries for company.

The losses are sad @Adge . My late parents had flocks of wild firetail finches visit sometimes.

@Dimity Seeing flocks of wild Firetail Finches would have been lovely.
I've never seen any of those here in WA.
My Dad used to have semi-tame Magpies come to his house for food, before he passed away 9 & 1/2 years ago.
He used to feed them.
He also used to feed a type of Skink, which came to the house to be hand-fed too (NSW).

@Adge I don't feed my local magpies but do say hello as I pass them. They often continue browsing as I pass and don't fly off.
When I was a kid in country Victoria we sometimes fed bandicoots and a bluetongue lizard that lived under the house.
9 1/2 years. I lost my dad 13 years ago and my mother 20 years ago. The family fell apart.

Hi @Dimity I've never seen any Marsupials or Possoms whilst living in Perth (31 years), unfortunately. Would have loved to have seen Bandicoots.
Never saw any when growing up in Sydney, either.
There is a Western Bluetongue Lizzard, but it's much smaller than the Eastern Bluetongue.
I've rarely seen it here. More often I've seen Bobtail Lizards here, which are as big as Eastern Bluetongue, but bumpy & bulbous-looking.
My family/ siblings fell apart too, when my Dad passed away. So I can relate to what you said.
Sorry that happened for you.
Dad was like the glue that held everyone together - No-one realised that until he was gone.
