Mr Darcy saw the palliative care team specialist yesterday in relation to his pain.
At this stage they are proceeding with caution, his meds have been tweaked and he now has a new med to try for the acute pain attacks he gets. His case will be reviewed at a multidisciplinary team meeting. The specialist feels his pain is multifaceted and we are running into difficulty as two of the first line drugs used for pain are also used in psychiatry and are in the same group as ones Mr D previously ran into trouble with. I said we would keep an open mind and balance benefit v risk.
